There seems to be an increasing number of serious crimes committed each year. While some think the best way is to use the death penalty as a deterrent, many people believe that other measures will be needed.
I have a question and I need your advice. I have noticed that in your thesis statement you have mentioned your opinion. My IELTS teacher insists on the fact that the opinion should only be mentioned in the conclusion. So the thesis statement would look like: 8776 Some people believe . and others . without mentioning MY opinion. then in the conclusion I don 8767 t need a summary I just have to mention my opinion. Can you please advise me on this?
Write your introduction. According to the Open University, your goal in the introduction of your discussion essay is to introduce the issues relating to the topic and to provide your reader with important background information. Explain any important words or terms your reader may not understand that you'll need to use in the essay. Providing your reader with a simple overview of how your discussion essay is organized will ensure that she understands your flow of thought throughout the body of the essay.
When you are instructed to justify your answer you must prove or show grounds for decisions. In such an answer, evidence should be presented in convincing form.
Choose your discussion essay topic. Make sure the topic is one that you're interested in personally since it will be easier for you to write. You'll need to discuss both sides of the issues surrounding the discussion essay topic, so ensure that you have access to good research that provides pertinent information.
Each of these questions is asking us to do different things and we therefore need a different structure for each question.
Before outlining your essay – think about things and issues you want to cover in your discussion essay and write them down on a paper. Then using the important on your view points create an outline. Doing an outline this way you will be sure you have included to your essay everything you wanted. Use headings, numbers, letters and sub-headings to make it more structured.
Express your judgment or correctness or merit. Discuss the limitations and good points or contributions of the plan or work in question.
I thought the term "Chicago style" meant pizza & hotdogs but boy was I was wrong after writing a research paper in MLA format & not Chicago
"Directives" ask you to answer, or present information, in a particular way.
Review these, and most of all note that there are different ways
of answering a question or writing a paper!
